Hatha Yoga
Hatha means the balance between body and mind. This balance is reflected in the universe (see table above).
Hatha yoga is made up of 3 elements:
- Asana - postures
- Pranayama - breathing control
- Shat Karma/Shuddhi Kriya - Cleansing techniques
- Neti - nasal cleansing
- Dhouti - master cleansing
- Busti - enema (soap or plain water)
- Nouli - abdominal massage (uddiyana bhanda)
- Kapalbhati - forceful exhalation
- Trataka - concentrating on a point till tears flow
